Whether you're a seasoned TCG collector, a nostalgic fan, or just discovering the rabbit hole of rare trading cards, welcome to Darkerzard — a space dedicated to the stories, value, and legacy of the most iconic and elusive cards out there.

What This Blog Is About

This site is all about shining a spotlight on the rarest, most sought-after, and sometimes overlooked gems in the world of trading card games, starting with the Pokémon TCG.

Each post will take a deep dive into a specific card — exploring:

  • 🧠 The story behind it
  • 💸 Why collectors love it
  • 📈 Its current market value (with live price tracking where possible)
  • 🔍 Set history, misprints, nicknames, and quirks
MoonbreonUmbreon VMAX (aka "Moonbreon") from the 2021 Evolving Skies set

Why I Started This

Like many collectors, I've always been fascinated not just by the cards themselves, but the stories they tell — from shadowless Base Set Charizards to modern alt arts like Moonbreon, there's history and hype behind each one.

I wanted a place where I could:

  • Share what I learn as I collect
  • Help others understand card value beyond the price tag
  • Connect with a community of collectors and fans

And yeah… if you've ever dropped hours searching through eBay listings, price charts, or Discord threads, this blog is for you.
